Description of Service

The Reference Formatting service is designed to meticulously align your manuscript’s in-text citations and final bibliography with the exact technical requirements of your target journal or preferred academic style guide (e.g., APA, MLA, Vancouver, Harvard, Chicago). Our team ensures proper citation order, correct punctuation, consistent styling, and the inclusion of necessary metadata.

Scope of Work and Limitations

To ensure clear expectations, please note the specific boundaries of this service:

• Styling vs. Fact-Checking: We focus strictly on the formatting and presentation of the references you provide. We do not fact-check the scientific validity of the cited papers, nor do we verify if the citation perfectly supports the claim made in your text.
• Missing Information: Authors are expected to provide complete reference details (Author names, Title, Journal Name, Year, Volume, Issue, Page numbers). If critical information is missing from your drafted reference list, we will attempt to locate it (such as a DOI or publication year). However, if the source cannot be readily verified online, we will leave a comment requesting that you provide the missing metadata.
• Not a Literature Review Service: We format the references you have already selected and included in your draft. We do not search for new literature to add to your manuscript or remove irrelevant citations.

Author Responsibilities & Submission Requirements

For us to accurately format your references, you must provide:

• The exact name of the Target Journal OR the specific Style Guide (e.g., “APA 7th Edition”) required.
• A manuscript containing all intended in-text citations and a corresponding draft bibliography. Every in-text citation must have a matching entry in the reference list, and vice versa.

Reference Management Software (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.)

If you have used reference management software to generate your bibliography:

• We highly recommend that you remove active field codes and export your bibliography as plain text before submitting the document to us.
• If you submit a document with active reference software coding, our formatting changes must be made manually to the text. Warning: If you subsequently update your reference software within that document after we return it to you, your software may override and erase our formatting work. Outreach Services is not responsible for formatting lost due to reference software syncs.

Quality Guarantee and Free Revisions

We guarantee that your citations and reference list will be formatted according to the guidelines of the target journal/style provided at the time of submission.

• If the journal editor returns your manuscript specifically citing reference formatting errors that we overlooked, we will correct the references for free.
• To claim a free revision, you must provide the exact feedback received from the journal within 30 days of the report’s delivery.
• Note: If you add new, unformatted references to the manuscript after we have delivered the final file, those additions are not covered under the free revision policy.

Limitation of Liability

• Outreach Services and Dr. Arup Giri shall not be held liable for manuscript rejections or delays caused by missing citations, incorrect data provided by the author, or failure to cite sources ethically (plagiarism).
• The sole liability of Outreach Services for any claim arising from this service shall not exceed the total fee paid for the Reference Formatting order (₹399).

Modifications to Terms

Dr. Arup Giri reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to arupgiri.com. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.
