1. Description of Service
Our Grammar Check service is a meticulous proofreading process designed to eliminate mechanical errors from an otherwise well-written manuscript. Our editors will thoroughly review your text to correct:
- Typographical errors (typos) and spelling mistakes.
- Grammatical errors (e.g., subject-verb agreement, incorrect verb tenses, improper article usage).
- Punctuation errors (e.g., missing commas, incorrect use of semicolons or apostrophes).
- Inconsistent capitalization and hyphenation.
2. Scope and Limitations (Grammar Check vs. Language Editing)
To ensure there is no confusion regarding the level of intervention, please note that the Grammar Check is strictly a proofreading service.
- What is NOT Included: This service does not include substantive editing for clarity, logical flow, sentence restructuring, paragraph transitions, or academic tone enhancement.
- Heavy Editing Required: If your manuscript contains dense, complex errors that obscure the scientific meaning, or if it requires significant paraphrasing to sound like a native English speaker, our editors will halt work and recommend upgrading to the comprehensive Language Editing service.
- Formatting: This service evaluates the text only. It does not include adjusting margins, headings, or references to meet target journal guidelines.
3. Pricing and Word Count
- The base rate (₹550) covers a standard Grammar Check for manuscripts up to 5,000 words.
- The word count includes all text submitted in the document (including references and figure legends unless you explicitly ask us to exclude them).
- Manuscripts exceeding 5,000 words will be billed proportionally. We will confirm the final word count and total price before commencing any work.
4. Author Responsibilities
- File Format: You must submit your manuscript as an editable Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). We do not perform grammar checks directly on locked PDF files.
- Final Draft: Please ensure that the document you submit is your final draft. If you add new text to the manuscript after we have returned the corrected file, those additions are not covered by our quality guarantee.
5. Plagiarism and Academic Integrity
The Grammar Check service is focused solely on language mechanics.
- We do not check for, nor do we attempt to resolve, instances of plagiarism or high similarity scores.
- We do not rewrite or "humanize" text generated by Artificial Intelligence under this service tier.
6. Quality Guarantee and Revisions
We strive for perfection and guarantee that your manuscript will be free from objective grammatical and spelling errors upon delivery.
- If you find objective typographical or grammatical errors that our editors missed, we will gladly correct them at no additional charge.
- This guarantee does not cover stylistic preferences or structural changes (which fall under Language Editing). You must request any error corrections within 30 days of receiving your completed manuscript.
7. Limitation of Liability
- While a polished manuscript significantly improves readability, Outreach Services cannot guarantee that your paper will be accepted for publication or escape peer reviewer criticism regarding the underlying scientific content.
