Dr. Manjeet (Bhaini Ameerpur, District Hisar, Haryana) is an accomplished researcher and educator in the field of Zoology, with a special focus on entomology and ecological diversity. She is currently serving as an Extension Lecturer at Government College, Narnaund (Hisar), where she has been contributing to teaching and mentoring since 2017.
Coming from a humble background, Dr. Manjeet faced challenges in her early life due to her family’s limited financial resources. Despite these hardships, her determination and academic excellence shone through. She pursued her higher education in zoology, botany, and chemistry at Government P.G. College, Hisar, before completing her M.Sc. in Zoology at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. In December 2016, she successfully cleared the prestigious CSIR-UGC NET/JRF in Life Sciences on her first attempt, marking a major milestone in her academic career.
She completed her Ph.D. in Zoology (2020–2024) from Baba Mastnath University, Rohtak, under the supervision of Dr. Arup Giri (Associate Professor). Her doctoral research, titled “Effect of Limonene Biopesticide on Seasonal Abundance, Diversity and Activity of Ground-dwelling Ant Colony”, explored the ecological implications of natural biopesticides, contributing to sustainable pest management strategies.
Dr. Manjeet has published her work in reputed international journals. Her research includes studies such as “Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) Species Richness and Diversity in a Semi-Arid Region of India” (Research Journal of Agricultural Sciences) and “Phytochemical Analysis and Limonene Concentration in Essential Oils and Filtrates of Mosambi and Orange Peels” (European Chemical Bulletin).
In recognition of her academic promise, she was awarded the prestigious INSPIRE-SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education), receiving support throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Beyond academics, she worked as an Extension Lecturer at CRM Jatt College, Hisar (2017), before joining Government College, Narnaund, where she continues to serve.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Manjeet values the role of science in improving human life and society. She is also deeply devoted to her family, including her husband Mr. Surinder Singh and their son Parikshit, balancing her academic career with her personal commitments.
